NARPACA and the Queensland Government
are pleased to announce the creation of a new funding program
called the Go Learn Fund that will provide travel
assistance to NARPACA members attending the 2010 NARPACA Ticketing
Professionals Conference in Sydney.
NARPACA President Mr Destry Puia said that
the Go Learn Fund was an exciting
initiative designed to support the ongoing professional development
of a key part of any arts organisation that is often overlooked.
"Over the last 10 years the box office
has evolved from being a simple transactional process into
what is now a key component of any venue’s audience development
strategy. Customer trends, online reporting and CRM strategies
are now part of any box office vocabulary. The Go
Learn Fund will enable NARPACA box office staff to
attend the only event in the Asia Pacific region that features
international speakers exclusively talking about the latest
developments in all things ticketing” said Mr Puia.
Mr Puia said the establishment of the Go
Learn Fund, with the assistance of the Queensland
Government through Arts Queensland, would ensure the state
continued to develop the best box office staff in Australia.
“Queensland is promoted as the smart
state and the Go Learn Fund will ensure that
this concept transposes over to frontline staff within the
arts industry,” he said. “The opportunity to not
only learn from key international speakers but also network
with some of the country’s leading arts organisations is a
unique and important learning experience.”
